PLYWOOD FOR GOOD

After the devestation of the March 2011 Earthquake in Japan, I wanted to find a way to give back without just sending over money for disaster relief. I asked a local skateboard shop if they would donate 20 blank skateboard decks to my cause. I gave those blank decks to 20 Bay Area artists, graphic designers, and fashion designers and asked them to use it as their canvas with the theme simply being, 'Helping Japan'. After a month of work, I gathered all of the skateboard decks together in a gallery, and auctioned them off along with other donated goods from Bay Area shops (Kid Robot, Incase, Peasents & Travelers). 100% of the money raised went directly to a non-profit called Direct Relief International who at the time was solely focused on helping the affected people of Japan.
